About Us
Hello!
Welcome to what will hopefully be a really exciting adventure for us. It's something we have always wanted to do since we first became friends and we finally decided it was time to pull our socks up and get the show on the road! It has always been our favourite things to go and escape from the world behind a freshly brewed mug of tea and indulge in some delicious homemade food. The content of our blog will feature reviews of places we go (mainly in Norfolk/Suffolk but we do like to go on spontaneous road trips every now and again) - tea & coffee shops, Cafes and small eateries. It will also feature recipes, advice and general veggie 'lifestyle' posts.
Now, let us introduce ourselves...
Jordane:
I have worked in the catering industry for a couple of years, waitressing and barista-ing (is that a word?..) and it has made me truly appreciate a good meal. I love cooking and am always on the hunt for new flavours and combinations. I have been 'meat free' for 13 years and in 2014 made one of the best decisions ever to cut out all animal products, living mainly a 'plant based' diet and doing my best for the animals. Veganism has encouraged me to experiment more in the kitchen. I can safely say that I eat a much bigger variety of foods than I ever have done before and am passionate about creating healthy, wholesome food however I am a huge sucker for a naughty treat here and there.
George: I am a big tea drinker, but I often stick to a good old English Breakfast brew. I also love cake. Cake is good. I am the baker in the relationship and enjoy experimenting with recipes and tweaking them to make my own. My signature bake is some good old fashioned banana bread, which we end up tweaking every time. I became vegetarian in 2012 (but mainly eat a vegan diet at home as Jordane does most of the cooking) and am really enjoying being more creative with food and continuously trying new things.
We are also parents to 3 beautiful bunnies, Mei, Bane & Sam, who may end up making a few appearances in our posts, simply because we take so many pictures of them...
Even though we both live meat-free lifestyles, we want this blog to be something everyone can enjoy. Our main aim is to show the world that you don't need meat/animal products in every meal to create something delicious, nutritious and satisfying, to educate, advise and
just have fun!
