"What could be more important than a little something to eat?' - Pooh Bear

House

Hello! It has been a hectic couple of weeks for us both - George has been super busy working and I have just started my third and final year at university *scary* (it seemed we started our blogging plans at the wrong time) and we have struggled to fit time in to relax.
However, this weekend was our 2 year anniversary and we thought what better reason to try out a new place to eat than celebrating our two years together.

House
I have always heard excellent things about House and was also recently recommended it by my mum so it was a no brainer! We decided to try out their famous breakfasts (we promise this won't just be a breakfast blog - thats what our friend The Fry Up Inspector is for - however there are so many delicious ones on offer we will definitely be doing a few more at least...) and were not disappointed!
The cafe itself is beautifully decorated - it's cosy and very welcoming. We got there 5 minutes after it opened and it was already almost full so we knew we were in for something good.
I was very pleased to see a wide selection of loose leaf teas and opted for an earl grey with soya milk & George had a big glass of orange juice. I also saw they offer soya 'milkshakes' which I may have to go back for one day...
I am also a huge sucker for vintage china - is it just me or does it make tea taste so much better?

There was an excellent range of food to choose from and there was a very good selection of vegetarian options available. We both had the full veggie/vegan breakfasts without mushrooms - I opted for extra tomato and George had an extra hash brown.
The service was very friendly and we barely had to wait for our food to arrive.

And here is the feast of a breakfast...

This was my vegan full english: Roasted tomatoes, baked beans, 3 sausages, 2 hash browns & ciabatta toast with soya spread.

The veggie also included Quorn 'bacon' and an egg.

The food was delicious, however, we did think it would have been a nice touch had they made their own veggie sausages (I think they were Linda McCartney's) but this is by no means a negative as we are always grateful to visit places with meat free alternatives. The ciabatta was a really nice change to sliced toast and the tomatoes were roasted to perfection.
Personally, I found the portion size way to big to finish, but George soon gobbled it all up. Maybe a word of warning if you don't do well with big meals, maybe in future I would ask for a smaller portion.
The veggie was £7 and the vegan was £6 - so excellent value for money especially considering the amount of deliciousness you get on your plate!

We were both very happy here and would definitely visit again!
