The most important meal of the day
... and our favourite!
We also thought what better way to get our blog up and running than to make our first post about that all important first meal - breakfast <3

Sundays are our full day off together and we like to make the most of it. After a busy week of working and the stresses of life getting in the way, we thought it would be nice to go out for breakfast, which is something we have never really done. We were faced with so many options in our beautiful home city of Norwich, which grows ever more full with delicious cafes and restaurants by the second! I had recently heard about a completely vegan breakfast which even included it's own version of black pudding and so we decided to hunt it out...
Tucked away down the Lanes of Norwich is Franks Bar, a cafe/bar filled with good food, drinks and a real chilled out atmosphere. They do their own special Sunday breakfast menu which includes the vegan/veggie breakfast (and of course the good old full english) bagels and pancakes... yum.
It's has two floors - both of which were almost completely full so I suggest getting there early to secure yourself a table as I can imagine it's always pretty popular! We found ourselves a cosy corner on the 1st floor and didn't have too wait long at all before placing our order and later receiving our food.

This was the vegan full english and looking at this picture makes me want to eat it all over again, it was so tasty!
It included a roasted tomato and mushroom stack, vegan black pudding, sauté potatoes, herby baked beans, granary toast & salad. For someone who isn't a huge mushroom eater I actually really enjoyed these, they were cooked and seasoned really well and didn't last too long on the plate... The 'black pudding' was delicious. It had a similar taste and texture to stuffing but whatever they used to make it, it sure was yummy! We both really love our beans and thoroughly enjoyed Franks herby additions.
George's vegetarian version included an extra of halloumi cheese and a choice of scrambled, poached or fried egg. The vegan breakfast was £6 and the vegetarian was £6.50.
Super duper good value for money!
We weren't feeling too adventurous with our drinks and both had a good old cuppa and I was pleased to see they had soya milk available too.
Franks Bar is open Tuesday - Sunday from 10am. They also serve some absolutely amazing looking food (lots of gluten free and vegan options) for brunch and lunch, so we will definitely be going back again sometime soon and testing out some more tasty treats!
