We're back... & Moorish Falafel
So just as this blog started up we had to stop it (due to Jordane's university commitments) but now she has pretty much finished we can get back to posting again! We've been to some really awesome places over the last few months and can't wait to share them all with you. We've also upped our game in the kitchen so will hopefully be making and sharing our own recipes too.
Moorish Falafel Bar - Lower Goat Lane
One of our all time favourite go-to places in our Fine City, is the absolutely delicious Moorish Falafel. Finding this gem was a dangerous discovery, as we often end up heading there at least once/twice... ok maybe three times a month. It's excellent value for money and I am pretty sure there is something there for everyone.
More often than not there will be a small queue, but that's for a very good reason! The staff are always very efficient, helpful, smiley and just generally a bunch of lovely people.
The menu is full of tasty choices - they have the option of a pitta or salad - I usually go for the salad and George opts for a white pitta (which are huge by the way) - and you can pick and choose different extras, such as my favourites tabbouleh, guacamole or aubergine.
Their falafels are some of the best I've tasted (and believe me, i've eaten a whole lotta falafel) deep fried and full of fresh flavours. Their crisp house salad and hummus can be topped with their signature dressings - tahini, yoghurt and mint or chilli - and it compliments the whole meal perfectly!
When we go, it's often a post-gym visit (or we're just generally feeling a bit naughty) so end up ordering one of their homemade vegan cakes, either a rocky road or peanut butter millionaires shortbread.
George will have a Moorish white pitta (three falafels, hummus, house salad and lettuce) with no sauces which is £3.50 to take away or £4.20 to eat in. I have the salad box (house salad, hummus, three falafels, lettuce, one filling) with tahini and chilli, which is £4.50 out & £5.40 in
Moorish always have little meal deals on, such as a salad box with homemade lemonade or fresh mint tea.
We cannot recommend Moorish enough - 10/10!
